Parking controls

The Council is proposing to bring in parking controls around Ibrox Stadium which would affect Dumbreck and Craigton in the Pollokshields Ward.

Residents in these areas have regularly complained about through traffic and the volume of traffic due to supporters parking their vehicles on residential roads. Therefore, an Event Day Parking Zone is planned for areas around the stadium to discourage supporters from parking their vehicles on roads close to the stadium and encourage more sustainable modes of transport.

A copy of the proposal, relevant maps, statement of reasons and a detailed report are available for inspection 9am–5pm, Monday to Friday at: Reception, Land and Environmental Services, Exchange House, 231 George Street, Glasgow, G1 1RX. These documents can also be viewed online at www.glasgow.gov.uk/saferparking

Any person wishing to object or support the plans must submit this in writing to Andy Waddell, Head of Infrastructure and Environment, Land and Environmental Services, Exchange House, 231 George Street, Glasgow, G1 1RX or email saferparking-ibroxstadium@glasgow.gov.uk

Comments must be received by Friday 25 May 2018.
